Automotive electrical service providers chiefly perform automotive electrical repairs and install automotive electrical products. They are not involved in general non-electrical motor vehicle repairs or body repairs (Thomson, J. IBISworld, Aug 2018).
Tyre retailers sell new and reconditioned tyres (not retreads) for passenger cars, utility vehicles, SUVs, vans, buses, trucks and motorcycles. Tyre retailers can also undertake fitting services such as wheel balances and alignments (Do, K. IBISworld, Jun 2018).
Passenger car rental and hiring firms’ principle activities are leasing, hiring or renting out passenger cars (sedans, hatchbacks, station wagons, SUVs and minibuses) without drivers. This industry summary does not include car leasing firms (Harrison, L. IBISworld, Jun 2018).
Industry operators are chiefly engaged in wholesaling new motor vehicle and motorcycle parts and accessories (i.e. batteries, car audio systems and motor vehicle and motorcycle tyres). Vehicle manufacturers, part retailers and mechanics are primarily the customers of motor vehicle new parts wholesalers (Thomson, J. IBISworld. Nov 2018).
Operators in the industry are primarily involved in dismantling motor vehicles or motorcycles and wholesaling the used parts obtained in the dismantling process. Industry operators commonly operate from fixed premises but may also wholesale used motor vehicle parts online. This industry snap shot does not include purely online wholesalers (Thomson, J.
